Window Cleaning
For homes within a mile or two of the coast — Southwest San Clemente, the Riviera District, North Beach, the Pier Bowl — every 3 months is a reasonable standard, since salt air builds a film fast enough that waiting longer risks it hardening into etching. Inland neighborhoods like Talega, Forster Ranch, and Rancho San Clemente typically see less direct salt exposure and can often stretch to every 4-6 months.
It’s more than cosmetic here specifically. Beyond the obvious visual improvement, regular cleaning removes salt film and mineral deposits before they have a chance to etch into the glass permanently, which protects the window itself, not just its appearance. Clean glass also lets in more natural light, which matters in homes designed around ocean views.
Clean glass transmits more natural light than glass coated in salt film, dust, or hard water spots, which can make rooms feel noticeably brighter. It won’t meaningfully change your home’s insulation or energy efficiency on its own, but it does improve how much usable daylight actually reaches your interior.
Regular dirt is loose debris that wipes off easily. Salt film comes from ocean spray carrying dissolved salt inland, and it settles on glass as a fine, dry residue — often without any rain at all. Left long enough, especially combined with San Clemente’s marine layer moisture, it can bond to the glass surface and start to etch it, which standard glass cleaner won’t reverse.
It depends on how long they’ve been there. Hard water spots are mineral deposits, not dirt, so they need a different removal process than standard cleaning — but they’re generally removable if caught before they etch the glass surface. Deposits left for years can leave some permanent etching, which is part of why we recommend not letting cleanings lapse too long.
Not when done correctly. Scratching typically comes from abrasive pads, dry razor blades, or scrubbing hard water buildup with the wrong technique — all things we avoid. Tracks, sills, and screens are included in every standard cleaning — not sold separately. A window with spotless glass and a filthy track isn’t actually clean, and it’s one of the most common things homeowners tell us their previous cleaner skipped.
Both are available. Many clients choose interior-and-exterior service, especially for a first cleaning or before a special occasion; some ongoing maintenance clients choose exterior-only, since that’s where San Clemente’s coastal exposure does the most damage.

Purified Water & Cleaning Methods
It’s a filtration process that strips minerals out of tap water before it touches your glass. Because the water has no mineral content left in it, it air-dries completely spot-free — no squeegee marks, no new hard water residue. That matters specifically in a hard-water city like San Clemente, since regular tap water can actually contribute to the same spotting problem you’re trying to get rid of.
Yes — for tall or hard-to-reach glass, a water-fed pole is generally safer than ladder work, especially on the uneven, sloped terrain common on hillside and bluff-top properties in Southeast and Southwest San Clemente. It also tends to produce a more even result on very tall glass than reaching up from a ladder.
Our purified water process removes the need for most chemical cleaners on standard glass. Where a cleaning solution is needed — for heavier buildup or specific surfaces — we use products chosen to be effective without being harsh on your landscaping, pets, or the surrounding environment.
Those methods can work fine on light, everyday dust, but they generally don’t remove hard water mineral deposits or fully cut through salt film — and using an abrasive pad or razor blade to try to scrub it off is one of the most common ways glass ends up permanently scratched. Professional tools and purified water are built specifically for coastal mineral and salt buildup.
Gutter Cleaning
Twice a year is a reasonable standard for most properties — once in fall ahead of winter rain, and once in late spring. Homes with heavy tree coverage or near open space may need more frequent attention.
Clogged gutters can overflow during rain, which sends water down your siding, stucco, and foundation instead of away from your home — a real risk during Southern California’s occasional heavy winter storms. Standing debris in gutters can also attract pests and, over time, contribute to rust or corrosion in metal gutter systems.
